A Drink in the Garden by kittiara A Drink in the Garden by kittiara
I did this picture entirely on a whim. It's a bumblebee girl, because honestly I love them; they are fluffy. How that translates into drawing a pinup of one is beyond me.

Got a bit stuck with the background at some points, but my boyfriend helped me figure it out. 8D Thank god for a second pair of eyes.

A Drink in the Garden by ~kittiara The suggester writes: "I think the reason I like this pic so much is just the uniqueness of the species that was chosen. A bumblebee is one of the stranger choices for an anthro pic but the artist pulled it off well. The result is a creature that is cute and believable at the same time. The background and actions of the subject also give a relaxed feel to the viewer which lets us appreciate it more." ( Suggested by Eggplantm and Featured by savagebinn )

Finally, I meet somebody who draws anthro insects! :B

Well, what can I say? It's a nice picture; I like how she has a sort of thick, curvy figure, because these type of bees are rather heavy in build, and that reflects it. Also like how stuff has a shiny glow to it and the fluffiness and of course, use of colors and putting the picture in a brown filter.

Of course, the head kind of looks creepy, but since you were going for realism it's okay. As for the extra legs? Who needs them in this case, it would have kind of over-done the picture in my opinion.

I like this, but I think I should give you a bigger thanks for making me feel a bit better about drawing up some anthro insects of my own in the future.

I never really thought of Bumblebees as sexy, but by gosh you seem to have pulled it off. She's pretty hot. I'd be afraid of that stinger though, it would be fatal considering she would be my size.

Haha, I tried to make it sexy and unnerving all at once.

Then girl you so succeeded. I somehow think she would be a lovely creature, but still that stinger looks dangerous. But since she'd only use it in self defence I suppose....

...I can't decide if that's feathery down or fur.... So, nice touch there.
