Artist's Comments

I did this picture entirely on a whim. It's a bumblebee girl, because honestly I love them; they are fluffy. How that translates into drawing a pinup of one is beyond me.

Got a bit stuck with the background at some points, but my boyfriend helped me figure it out. 8D Thank god for a second pair of eyes.

A Drink in the Garden by ~kittiara The suggester writes: "I think the reason I like this pic so much is just the uniqueness of the species that was chosen. A bumblebee is one of the stranger choices for an anthro pic but the artist pulled it off well. The result is a creature that is cute and believable at the same time. The background and actions of the subject also give a relaxed feel to the viewer which lets us appreciate it more." (Suggested by =Eggplantm and Featured by ^savagebinn)

Female bumblebees have stingers, but they aren't barbed so, unlike honeybees, they won't die when they sting you.

And hey, there are many ways to draw anthropomorphic insects-- including leaving out their third pair of legs. :3

Insects freak me out, so the head is causing me to make some funny faces. It's not bad, though. Other than the head, I really like it.

I suppose it's a backasswards way of saying you did a great job, if it's real enough to bother me. lol
