I took a bunch of photos of the bust I did in my Figurative Clay class... just in case. See, we have to cast it in plaster next, so that's happening tomorrow. Today I put in the shims and divided it into 3 pieces with those... etc. But this thing is life-sized, and DENSE CLAY and I am weak. In the arms. So I am nervous more about moving it than I am of casting it. Thank god for clay stands with wheels and for elevators! P.S. Plaster casting is fun. Also I put a base on this guy, but took these before I did that. Took a long time. Did I ever mention that I love clay? I just rarely do it of my own accord. Thinking of buying some cheap from the school... I don't like working with Sculpey as much as this stuff (though I did as a kid). ENOUGH RAMBLING. and yes we did work from a model, but took liberties because we're practicing the human features in general. |
